From the recording Change with the Seasons
When I was just a child
I learned hard things from the world
I learned that even love cannot weather
The destruction of the thoughtless word
But when a young heart first is broken
It learns, in time, to mend
And in this greatest truth unspoken
We find the strength to feel again
If we change with the seasons
Blow free as the wind
If we rise and set with the sun and trust
These dark days end
When I was just a child
I watched death’s grip take its hold
I saw that even life has no power
Over bodies as they’re growing cold
Despite how we may try to fight it
There is beauty in letting go
For all things age and pass away
And we, in turn, will follow
As we change with the seasons
Blow free as the wind
As we rise and set with the sun and trust
These dark days end
All things change
We must change
All things change
We must change
All things change
We must change
All things change
We must change
Change
Change
Change
Change
When I was just a child
I learned hard things from the world
