Music was, and always will be, my first love. This love of music stems all the way back to my childhood, where I fondly remembers listening to Classical music with my mom and dancing in the streets of Decorah, Iowa to the Nordic folk band, The Footnotes. I have been singing and playing piano as long as I can remember, with the guitar, cello, and other instruments being more recent additions to my musical skillset. Along with performing, as a freshman at Bethany Lutheran College, I discovered my talent and passion for music composition.
If asked what the top three musical influences have been in my life, I would probably have to tell you 1) Nordic folk music, 2) Studio Ghibli films and Japanese anime, and 3) Nintendo (specifically The Legend of Zelda and Pokemon series) and other video games. I specialize primarily in composition, and these influences have had a significant impact on my own unique compositional style. Common themes found in my music are ideas of time, dreams, the seasons, nature, emotions, and the realms of fantasy and fiction.
I graduated from Bethany in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Music and Theatre. Since then, I married my college sweetheart, Joe, and we were blessed with the birth of our baby son, Matthew, in March of 2019. I am currently a full-time stay-at-home-mom, but I make sure to prioritize my passions still, as well. Some of my most recent projects include working on finishing my Tell It To The Wind album, wedding commissions, portrait photography gigs, and starting a theatre company, Momentous Theatre Productions, with a close friend and former classmate.
